The pit crew is a crucial part of any Champ Car team. These guys must be skilled, fast and organized. Each team knows that an efficient pit crew can enhance the driver's chances for a podium finish.

The all important Jack Man must connect his air hose to the rear of the car's chassis to raise the car for the tire change.

This crew member will bring tires from the garage to the pits and help pass tires over the wall. Generally he assists wherever he is needed but is not part of the 'over the wall' crew.

In addition to passing the rear inside tire over the wall, this crew member will also pass the starter over the wall if the Champ Car stalls in the pit. He also prepares all tires for practice, qualifying and the race, and keeps track of laps/miles on each set of tires and the order they are used in.
