PayPal Checkout Setup

Overview

PayPal Checkout is popular alternative or compliment to using a traditional credit card payment gateway. It acts like a gateway and is another option to help get you paid. Once enabled, customer's will be able to chose PayPal, PayPal Credit, or other enabled payment types as a payment option on the shopping cart or checkout page. When they click PayPal payment button, they'll login to PayPal's secure checkout form to complete the transaction. There, they can pay with a credit card or their PayPal account. Once finished, the customer will be redirected back to your Online Store.

Benefits of upgrading to PayPal Checkout:

  • The update leverages the newest PayPal API's, bringing further security to your payments.
  • In addition to offering PayPal, you can now enable Smart Payment Buttons for PayPal Credit, Venmo, and/or Debit & Credit Card processing.
  • No more full-page redirect when customers checkout with PayPal. This has a drastic impact on mobile conversions.

Important: You may notice the buttons disappear when viewing the shopping cart. This only happens for Admin Users. You can either open an incognito/private browser window, logout of Admin, or open click on the live design icon to view these buttons.
